In the first half of 2009, I got really interested synthesizing things. Particularly in the form of vat-grown meat tissues and fragrances. This project was born out of the desire to get all of the fun of eating, without the actual eating. The device works by blasting the molecules of a solution into the air, thereby turning it into a vapor.

The three vents emit three courses of a tasty dinner: tomato and basil soup, a beef roast, and a rootbeer float for dessert. The vapor solutions were made using a gelatin-filtration process. Each course was reduced down to a soup, and then gelatin is added. The gelatin binds to the fats and oils and when strained, leaves you with a perfectly clear and flavorful consumme.
